Installing a new refrigerator in an old house seems like a reasonable
enough endeavor. Somebody thought it would be a good idea to cut into
the wall to tap into a water line, but leave an access panel to the
valve for turning on and off. This leaves an ugly panel and a big pain
when you need to turn on the water. So but a 1/4" needle valve to go in the end of the ice maker tubing. Add a shortie tube to the other end, turn on the valve in the wall, and no more need for an access panel.
