With Ben finally in town and breakfast burritos in our bellies, we set to work on the kitchen. To start with I took some more before pictures to capture the overall look and feel of the room. Notice the multiple variations of cabinets, which are not all functional. Also notice that the refrigerator appears to be sitting out in the room and that the access panel for water is an eye sore.. Finally notice how the flooring, counter, and cabinets all clash. These are the problems with the kitchen that this renovation intends to eliminate. In addition, paint and potentially changing the backsplash will finalize the room.
(The last photo is from the first walkthrough, but I didn't take a picture of the back of the peninsula before we started demolition.)
