New Locks
The first thing you should do, so they say, is change the locks. Given the shady nature of the sellers during the process, I should have done this much sooner than I did. Unfortunately it can be quite expensive. If you know me well, you know that I hate having anything in my pocket - if I could get down to iPhone, chapstick, knife that would be ideal - still waiting on an iWallet solution and car/house key integration. Until then I decided to splurge for the deadbolt with electronic key code. Now I don't have to carry a key and if I need someone to go check on my house while I'm gone, they don't need a key! The installation is very easy and these newer SmartLocks allow you to rekey yourself, which will be perfect if I ever lose a key or rent in the future.

What happens if your electric goes out, does the electronic lock still work?
ReplyDeleteIt's battery powered and gives a warning when the battery get's low. Plus it still has the traditional key lock.
